Laura Noble is a working class multidisciplinary artist, curator & writer whose work explores many facets of memory, cause & effect, specifically anamnesis & processing trauma.
Laura Noble is a queer working class artist, feminist, curator & writer whose work explores many facets of memory, cause & effect, specifically anamnesis & trauma. Hailing from Manchester in the North of England & of mixed heritage, she is now based in London where she lives & works.
Her work is in Private & public collections in the UK, USA & Australia.
Trained as a painter, printmaker & sculptor Laura studied both in the UK and Australia & works in multiple medias. Her conceptual practice centres around anamnesis, a Platonic form of remembering. Exploring memory, trauma, recovery & transformation. Her socially engaged practice includes collaborative projects & immersive experiences.
From painting in oils to works on paper including collage, printmaking & drawing Noble incorporates photography, film & sculpture into her work. Performative acts are photographed & filmed often using artwork she has created. Each work informs the next. Unspoken trauma is given a voice through visual means in the safety of her practice & method.
Now based in London where she lives & works as both an artist & gallerist for LANG as well as an independent curator, writer & educator.
In 2022 she was awarded a Project Grant from the Arts Council England to create & exhibit her project Anamnesis Unbroken (Au) in 2023.

L A Noble Code of Practice as a Socially Engaged Artist
Acknowledge that people are the authority of where they reside & work.
Use art as an instrument to be used towards reaching the goal for social change.
Create room for the community to be heard through the space you inhabit.
Understand that things take time to develop & giving yourself this time is essential.
Understand your intentions, be truthful & share them.
Never assume – this is a recipe for disaster.
Understand when you need to pause & take stock in order to take care of your own wellbeing.
Understand that artist’s worth is in bringing new perspectives to facilitate creation & change.
Always support other socially engaged artists, celebrate, share & encourage their practice.
Work collaboratively.
